I am Father Peter Frangie, your new servant in Christ. I was assigned since August 1st, 2024, as the new Parish Administrator of Our Lady of Mercy. I reside here now, with my wife, Marise. We come to you after serving the past 4 years at St Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church in Glen Allen, Virginia. I look forward to collaborating, coordinating with everyone. I and Marise hope and pray that we will all work together with God's grace and build our community of faith according to God's will. I am humbled the Lord has chosen me to be your servant.
I was born and raised in Lebanon. I moved to NY to study at Manhattan College where I majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. While a College Professor and High School teacher in the field of Mathematics, the Lord distinctly called me to be a Deacon in His Church. During my diaconate formation and with the election of Pope Francis to the Papacy, the Lord opened a door for me to become a married Maronite Catholic Priest serving in the USA. On July 17, 2021, I was the second married man to be ordained to the priesthood in the Eparchy of St Maron of Brooklyn, by Bishop Gregory Mansour. Upon completion of serving the last eight months of my Diaconate in Richmond, VA and my Priestly Ordination, I was assigned to assist the pastor at St. Anthony's for the past 3 years.
Now, I begin a new chapter with my wife, and all of you, in Worcester. I come to you with a heart desiring to serve you and bring you closer to Christ; and grow into the saint He has created each and everyone of one of us to become. However. this only can be accomplished by God’s grace and our joined efforts. I have already been humbly and gratefully overwhelmed by the care and love of so many of you; most especially by everyone who has been sacrificing their time, talent and resources to help us in this move in. The rectory has undergone many renovations because of YOU. This is beyond Marise and my expectations, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. As incredible as this is, I pray and hope that everyone will have the same fervor and joy in rebuilding our parish community. Thus, I ask and need your prayers and support to make this possible. Please, let us work together to revive our community socially and spiritually. While doing so we can also reach out to those in our community who have been absent for various reasons.
Yours in Christ,
Father Peter
